Travis Barker Plane Crash Accident -- Former Blink 182 band drummer Travis Barker was survived a fatal Learjet 60 plane crash accident which killed 4 in Columbia, South Carolina at at 11:53 pm on the night of Friday September 19.

Another injured is Hollywood famed music deejay D.J. AM, original name Adam Michael Goldstein. It was reported that Travis Barker and DJ AM saved their own lives by jumping out the alighted plane after it plunged to the ground. Travis was burned from the waist down and in critical condition while DJ AM had his face severely burned. Both now are treated at a burn center in Augusta, Georgia.

The four victims were identified as Chris Baker (pic), 29, and the pilot Sarah Lemmon,31, co-pilot James Bland, 52, and Charles Still, 25, of Los Angeles.

According to the reports, the plane carrying six people was departing from S.C.'s Columbia to California's Van Nuys. But the plane crashed in the vicinity of Highway 302 after overrunning the runway. The true cause of Travis Barker plane accident is still probing.

LAT's The Envelope summarized the accident:

The crash happened before midnight on Friday. A twin-engine private Learjet with six passengers onboard never left the ground, overran the runway, struck an antenna array and several lights, and began sending up sparks.

After skidding off the end of the runway, through a perimeter fence between the airfield and a roadway, the plane crossed the roadway, stopping on an embankment.

It caught fire on impact. Two passengers - later confirmed to be AM and Barker - escaped the plane but the other two passengers and crew members died in the crash.

Us Magazine reports that AM was put in a doctor-induced coma and will undergo skin grafts.

K-Swift, the Queen of Baltimore Club Music, died in the morning of July 21 after she suffered a head injury sustained from a drowning accident at her home swimming pool during the previous night. The 28-year-old best club DJ whose real name is Khia Edgerton lost her life at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Link

Todd Doxey Death: UO Football Player Todd Doxey Drowned in McKenzie River in Oregon

In an unexpected incident, Todd Doxey, a promising football player of University of Oregon, died on Sunday afternoon after jumping into the McKenzie River from the Marcola Road Bridge in Springfield, Oregon. From Dailyemerald.com

According to a release from the Oregon sports information department, Doxey joined several teammates who were inner tubing down the river, but jumped off the Marcola Road Bridge after his teammates were downstream. He jumped at around 3:20 p.m. but struggled to swim across the current.

After being picked out of the water by a boater coming down the river, he was given CPR on the shore. He was initially taken to McKenzie-Willamette Hospital in Springfield before being transferred to Sacred Heart Hospital, where Doxey was pronounced dead at 8:05 p.m.

"Anytime a young man or woman dies, it's just a tragedy," Oregon head football coach Mike Bellotti said. "My heart goes out to his family and to our players, some whom were there and some who will find out about it later. This is just one of those things we don't have answers for."

Born 1989 in San Diego, California, Todd Doxey was 19 years old. He graduated from Hoover High School in his native city in 2007 and was recruited by University of Oregon.

Doxey who stood 6 feet 2 inches and weighed in 175 pounds played the rover in UO football team. He was named scout team player of the week four consecutive weeks during the 2007 season, which he redshirted.

Todd Doxey died at so young an age, many of his fans were saddened. One of them, Datexas left a comment on the webpage ofthe video above found on Youtube:

"R.I.P. Todd Doxey-only the great die young. I remember you as a little boy growing up. Great young man and family he has a host of cousins. Meant a lot to the youth of today, your smile can light up a room. I heard God was holding a draft you were the number one pick play on Todd play on we will miss you greatly. Hoover High, Oregon State Ducks."

Doxey is survived by parents Todd and Gladys Doxey, and his three siblings.

Lynda Carter, 56, went alone to canoeing on the Potomac River in Washington in the afternoon of June 4, shockingly finding a dead woman later identified as Helen Johnstone floating face down in the water.

As she did not bring her hand phone at the time, Carter had to yell to some fishermen and asked them to dial 911 to call EMS responders who later pulled Helen Johnstone's dead body ashore.

The official cause and manner of Johnstone's death is yet to announced as an autopsy is under way. But it is believed she might have committed suicide.

While a lot thought Lynda Carter did a good deed, she herself was quite modest.

"I didn't do anything special. I did what anybody would have done." Carter told the Washington Post.

Shaniqua Tompkins burned 50 Cent's Dix Hills Mansion? No one knows as now it is too early to predict who is the arson suspect. A raging fire burned down rapper 50 Cent's multi-million mansion in Dix Hills, Long Island this morning.

A total of six persons including Shanique Tompkins and her son suffered smoke inhalation but no life threats. The firefight squad called the fire "definitely suspicious", Newsday reported.

"I would say there is a strong -- a strong, strong -- possibility that it is suspicious," said Dix Hills Fire Department Chief Larry Feld, among the first firefighters to arrive on the scene.

The doomed mansion has been at the center of a lawsuit between her and 50 Cent.

This April, 50 Cent tried to evict Shaique Tompkins from the house unless she paid him $4,500 a month in rent. In return, Shaique filed a lawsuit against 50 Cent, claiming he had promised her the £1.2 million house more than ten years ago.

Dianne Odell, an inspirational lady from Tennessee who spent nearly six decades of her life in an iron lung, died after her breath-supporting machine was stricken by a power failure. Ms. Odell suffe

A woman who spent nearly 60 years of her life in an iron lung after being diagnosed with polio as a child died Wednesday after a power failure shut down the machine that kept her breathing, her family said.

Dianne Odell, 61, had been confined to the 7-foot-long machine since she was stricken by polio at 3 years old.

Family members were unable to get an emergency generator working for the iron lung after a power failure knocked out electricity to the Odell family's residence near Jackson, about 80 miles northeast of Memphis, brother-in-law Will Beyer said.

"We did everything we could do but we couldn't keep her breathing," said Beyer, who was called to the home shortly after the power failed. "Dianne had gotten a lot weaker over the past several months and she just didn't have the strength to keep going."

Capt. Jerry Elston of the Madison County Sheriff's Department said emergency crews were called to the scene, but could do little to help.

Odell was afflicted with "bulbo-spinal" polio three years before a polio vaccine was discovered and largely stopped the spread of the crippling childhood disease.

She spent her life in the iron lung, cared for by her parents and other family members. Though confined inside the 750-pound apparatus, Odell managed to get a high school diploma, take college courses and write a children's book.

The iron lung that she used was a cylindrical chamber with a seal at the neck. She lay on her back in the device with only her head exposed, and made eye contact with visitors using an angled mirror above her head. The lung worked by producing positive and negative pressure on the lungs that caused them to expand and contract so that she could breathe.

Iron lungs were first used to sustain life in 1928, and were largely replaced by positive-pressure airway ventilators in the late 1950s. A spinal deformity from the polio made it impossible for Odell to wear a more modern, portable breathing apparatus, so she continued to use the older machine.

A Boeing 747 cargo plane belonging to Michigan-based Kalitta Air crashed at the end of a runway and split in two while trying to take off Sunday at the Brussels Zaventem Airport. Mercifully the plane did not catch fire, although firefighters coated the wings with a special fire-retardant foam as a precaution, as its fuel tanks were still filled with highly flammable jet fuel. No causalities were caused, but four of the five crew members on board the aircraft were slightly injured and were hospitalized, according to the authorities at the Brussels Airport. Maria Sue Chapman, 5, the youngest child/daughter of gospel music singer Steven Curtis Chapman, was killed last night after she was hit by her teenage brother‘s SUV in the family driveway in Williamson County, Tennessee. Maria Sue, who was adopted from China, was playing in the driveway when she was struck by the Toyota Land Cruiser. She was airlifted to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville but later died of the injuries. Our hearts and thoughts are with Chapman's family. May God comfort them in this tragedy. Link

Lafayette of Lousiana has a hydrochloric acid leak! The accident happened after a train derailed in Lafayette Saturday morning around 2:20 a.m. Not long after that, two of the six derailed cars began leaking hydrochloric acid. Firefighters and state police have arrived on the scene. For safety concerns, around 300 of residents within a 1-mile radius of the accident are ordered to be evacuated. Sichuan Wenchuan Earthquake Rocks China

A strong earthquake in Wenchuan County of Sichuan Province has rocked China on May 12, 2008. The earthquake measured 7.8 on the Richter scale according to China's State Seismological Bureau was felt in the thousands-kilometers-away provinces or regions including Beijing, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Hongkong, and Taiwan among others. The powerful earthquake killed at least 107 8533 people and buried thousands of middle school students in Sichuan as the tremor caused buildings to fall. The epicenter of the quake was located 31.0 degrees north latitude and 103.4 degrees east longitude, reported Xinhua.

Wenchuan is believed to the worst hit area in the quake. As the local telecommunications have totally been cut off, there are no immediate causalities reported and  the authorities now have to rely on the military helicopters to inspect the affected area. For those who are panda lovers, you may have to worry about Wenchuan, because it is home to Wolong National Natural Reserve, the place where Sichuan Wolong Panda Protection and Breed Center is situated.

Texas Daisetta Sinkhole -- The picture below of AP via BBC shows a giant sinkhole in Texas's Daisetta Town, Liberty County.

The massive Daisetta sinkhole believed to be as long as two football fields and up to 100 feet deep has swallowed vehicles and oil field equipment. It is still developing. Daisetta, a town of 1000 population, is a once booming oil town. The ground might have caved in because of the collapse of an old salt dome where oil brine and natural gas are stored underground. A video captured by a helicopter crew of WTXF-TV in Philadelphia during a police chase on Monday shows Pilly officers kicking and beating three suspects pulled from a car during a traffic stop. The three suspects reportedly involved at a triple shooting at the time. But still the police associated with the incident were accused of the brutal law enforcement. Our Lady of the Lake University is a Catholic University based in San Antonio, Texas. A fire broke out at the Main Building which houses human resources, cashier services, the sociology department and campus ministry, on the university campus tonight after 7 p.m. Firefighters had spent nearly 3 hours before finally contained the blaze before 10 p.m. Thanks to God! The winds of up to 190kmph, destroyed thousands of houses and knocked out electricity. With the mortalities of common Burma citizens exceeding more than 350, the military juntas hiding the remote capital of Naypyidaw are expected to be quite safe. Link

1967 Fiat BTM's Failed Brakes Caused Jerry Seinfeld to Have Car-flip Accident

Jerry Seinfeld, pictured above with a Porsche (via), had a brush with the death. The comedian survived his vintage 1967 Fiat BTM car rollover accident on East Hampton Town, New York, on the past weekend.

Jerry Seinfeld was in a harrowing rollover wreck but was unhurt after the brakes on one of his vintage cars failed.

Seinfeld was driving alone when the brakes on his 1967 Fiat BTM stopped working Saturday evening, East Hampton Town Police Chief Todd Sarris told the New York Post. Seinfeld tried the emergency brake, to no avail, and then swerved to keep the car from careening into an intersection, Sarris said.

The two-door sedan flipped over and came to a stop just yards from the highway, Sarris said, adding that the comic's maneuver ''probably avoided a very serious accident.''

The wreck was attributed to mechanical failure, and no summonses were issued, Sarris said. Seinfeld, 53, did not require medical attention and returned to his East Hampton home.

Even though his wife Jessica Seinfeld said her husband was was a little shocked, the comedian still can poke funs on the crash:

''Because I know there are kids out there, I want to make sure they all know that driving without braking is not something I recommend, unless you have professional clown training or a comedy background, as I do,'' Seinfeld said. ''It is not something I plan to make a habit of.''
