Dara Torres, the oldest swimmer in the Olympics history, has qualified for the semi-final of women's 50m freestyle event on Beijing Olympics August 15. Her 24.59 is the third fastest among the 16 semifinalists at the National Aquatics Center in Beijing. The top qualifier is 16-year-old Australian Cate Campbell, who finished at 24.20 seconds. Torres, 41, who won a silver for the U.S. team in the 4x100 meter freestyle relay days ago, is sure to be a capable competitor to add an gold medal for her Olympic career. Link
