Paul Krugman Is 2008 Nobel Economics Prize Winner! Economist Paul Krugman was announced to be the sole winner of this year's Nobel Economics Prize "for his analysis of trade patterns and location of economic activity" today on October 13. 

He will receive his Nobel gold medal and diploma along with 10 million Swedish kronor ($1.42m  at a formal prize ceremony in Stockholm on December 10.

Paul Krugman, 55, is an economics professor at Princeton University and a columnist for The New York Times. His new trade analysis therory determines the effects of free trade and globalisation, as well as the driving forces behind worldwide urbanisation.

Krugman is a fierce critic of the Bush administration's free-market policies. He opposed to the initial wording of US Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson's 700-billion-dollar financial sector bailout plan weeks ago.

Krugman's win indicated the Noble Prize committee has shift its focus away from the heavily prized liberal market theories widely blamed for the recent worldwide financial crisis/mess. Source & Paul Krugman Image: AFP

We reported earlier that Lisa Marie Presley has given birth to her twin daughters with musician husband husband Michael Lockwood at Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, California on October 10. Mow more details other than the names of Lisa Marie Presley babies have now emerged as Cindy Guagenti, Presley's rep, confirmed her client's delivery news to People.com

"The babies and mom are happy and healthy and resting at home," rep Cindy Guagenti tells PEOPLE.

The baby girls were delivered by C-section at 2:46 p.m. and weighed in at 5 lbs., 15 oz. and 5 lbs., 2 oz.

Golden Gate Bridge Suicide Net To Be Installed for Preventing Suicides

San Francisco's landmark Golden Gate Bridge is not only a tourists' favorite visiting venue, but also a hot spot for those potential suicidal people. According to LAtimes, about 2,000 people have jumped from the storied bridge since it opened in 1937. In 2007 only, there were 39 confirmed suicides.  This year, 19 people have already ended their lives from the bridge. The somewhat rampant suicidal cases have finally lead the board of the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District to make a decision to install a giant stainless-steel netting which was estimated to cost $40 million to $50 million beneath the bridge to prevent the tragical incidents to happen again. But the net will still need extra permits before it can go ahead and is subject to an environmental review before work can start. It is expected to take up to three years to build.

Marie Presley Twins Born: Lisa Marie Presley Gives Birth to Twin Girls on October 10 in California!

Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of late Elvis Presley, and husband Michael Lockwood, welcomed the two infants to the world at Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, California, reported Star magazine.

These two tots are the first children for Lockwood, while the third and fourth for Presley who has two kids with former husband Danny Keough, daughter Danielle Riley, 21, and and son Benjamin Storm, 17.

An insider told the mag:

Lisa Marie is mom to four now! She’s feeling good, a little tired too,” a family friend reveals. “She is so happy and Michael is ecstatic. He’s wanted to be a dad for so long. This is his dream come true…. The babies are healthy and beautiful. Ben was seen pushing them down the hall in their cart and cooing to them.”

Other than the sex of Marie Presley baby twins were confirmed as two daughters, no other detailed info (names, size, weight etc.) is available on the time of publish this post.

Lisa Marie Presley, 40, and Michael Lockwood, 47, were married in January, 2006. Presley announced that she was pregnant this March after she was accused of her "fatty" size. She was rumored to have conceived twins not long after her pregnancy announced, but only until August, Lisa Marie, who previously also married to Michael Jackson, confirmed to on a TV show that she was indeed expecting twins.
